Lush basal rosettes of leaves give way to slender stems with clusters of star (or Maltese cross) shaped flowers in salmon. Blooms across a long period from late spring to late summer. Lovely en masse in prairie style plantings and cottage gardens. Prefers drier well drained soil in a sunny spot, though tolerates partial shade. Attractive to bees and butterflies.
