Description:  Astilbe 'Cattleya' has lush green feathery clumps of completely deciduous leaves, with tall stemmed plumes of bright pink fluffy flowers in spring.
 
Notes on cutting: Astilbes have a reputation for being temperamental to pick, so pick in the early morning when they are well hydrated and the flower heads are completely coloured and at least half open.  Cut at stems with clean snips at a 45 degree angle and place immediately in warm water.  keep somewhere cool in deep water overnight or at least a few hours before using.
