 Syn. Symphyotrichum novi-belgii ‘White Queen’

Asteraceae

Hardy Perennial

Sun to part shade

Ht. 1.2m

1L recycled plastic pot

A beautiful clumping perennial Aster, that spreads readily perfect for your cutting garden.   Flowers in March (early autumn) with tall plumes of white daisies.  Though preferring a sunny spot with good drainage, they are tolerant of heavier soils and light shade. Best divided every few years to multiply and maintain vigour.

Notes on Cutting

For a multitude of lighter shorter stems cut back in spring, or for fewer heavier, taller stems leave to their own devices.  The flower stems benefit from some good support - though I do enjoy the interesting shaped stems created by a good flop!

For the longest vase life, best cut when 20% of flowers are open on the spray.
